He came away from the day admiring the surprising beauty of that part of Wolverhampton, and happy that he attened. Also he left with the Kubuntu CD, and Ubuntu Server CD that he needed quite desperatly, but internet connection had let him down.
Both of us particulally enjoyed the small exhibition area. Our attention was held by the stall by a man who modifies old Xboxs, putting Xbox Media Center on them, then selling them on ebay for £70. I bought an old Xbox the other day with the specific aim to put XBMC on it, but I had never seen an actual working version and be able to use it. Watch this blog for more info when I actually modify mine.
I also signed up to become a memenber of the Open Rights Group. So they got £15 out of me. But I took as many free malteazers, stickers, and badges as I could. I am looking forward to the action that the ORG is taking on our behalf, and making sure that our MPs stay informed.
The Swag bag was great too. Free T-shirt won me over straight away, you could have given me a Microsoft Vista CD and I wouldn't of cared! :D
See you next year.

I went to see Taking Liberties the other day.
Its a brilliant film for all those interested in the human rights that we all posses and also believe that they are being erroded by the current UK government.
It presented me with a lot of information that I already knew and agreed with, but also new stuff. I may even go and see it a second time to take it all in.
One part of the film concerned ID cards. It included an obvious statement that "if no one uses ID cards then they become useless". I have always known this but now I'd like to say that I will not be getting and ID card and damning the concequences.
I encourage all those that care about their civil rights to see the film, it may not present much new information but its entertaining and at times quite sickening to see what is being done in our name.
Thank you.

On Sunday I procrastinated like a pro. Instead of revising for my exam on Monday I ran 8.5 miles dressed as a pirate!

Me and 8 friends from university took part in the Great Midlands Fun Run (also called the Sutton Fun Run).

I managed to complete the entire route in 1hr 40mins, not too shabby I thought. Though the last 20m gave me a crippling stitch. The others of our group finished in 1hr 57mins, and an amazing 2hrs 50mins!
It was a great event with families of Sutton Coldfield taking to the street to cheer the participants on. I am also proud to have shouted "GAAARRR!" at every family and small child that pointed at us saying "Look, pirates!"
I've raised a paltry some for Amnesty International, but every little helps.
